I suppose the question presupposes that there were people who genuinely believed in the Taiping dogma. I may be very wrong.

But the Tonghak movement in Korea survived its initial oppression, and came back in a big way decades later. What happened to the many thousands of people who were part of the Heavenly Kingdom's government and army?

Did any of the secret societies formed in the late Qing view themselves as continuations of the Taiping?
