Due to some bad choices I am slowly becoming a weeb. I'm particularly interested in the Warring States period of Japanese history as it's so formative to the mythology and later media of the nation.
Yet almost all English-language history books I can find on it focus on the final stage of the period with the three unifiers, with an annoying focus on Oda Nobunaga. Yes, Oda's rise is very interesting but when all I can find in English is the dissection of every minute detail of his life I really can't stand to look at any more of it.

I want to learn about the Takeda and Uesugi, the Hojo, the Ikko-Ikki, the Portuguese and Catholics, the Onin war, I want to know how it all relates to each other. Preferably written in an easy-to-digest format that I can read between other studies.
