Salty suicides? A 1670 revision of the French criminal code apparently ordered that the bodies of people who took their own lives be salted, brought before a judge and sentenced to public display. Is this true? If so, did other countries do something similar?

While I am not familiar with France's punishment of suicides, desecrating a suicide's body like this was a common punishment, starting from around the 13th century in most of Europe. Many places did hang suicides for the public to see, one place punished suicides depending on how they committed it. For example, if they drowned themselves, they'd be buried in the sand.
