I am the governor of Santa Marta del Darién, but the Laws of the Indies don't allow certain things, amongst them is the import to the Indies of some useful machineries, such as grindstones and mill-stones. The savages around here don't have anything to that effect, and don't even have metals, so toiling the lands, and clearing the jungle is excedingly difficult.
With this situation, I decided to set up my own operation. I brought from Spain four grindstones for sharpening my own utensils, my sword, dagger, etc. I also decided to bring some farming equipment such as axes to chop down trees. The thing is, if I sell one axe and it lasts forever, I am hardly making any money, and the office of governor is not well paid. So, I bring axes of the cheapest quality iron, those need fixing and resharpening every so often, and make a killing from the technical service.
YTA: Huge asshole move man, practically fraud. These people thought they were buying a whole product and you've essentially screwed them. Next you'll be making some kind of electronics but making sure they can only use spcially built headphones you sell for a killing.
NAH: Those Indie “savages” as you put it don’t deserve quality goods. They should stay at their rightful place below you, and pay for your quality repair.
NTA, you obviously have the good intentions of bringing iron to those who have none: A commendable enterprise indeed!
