Hello, could anyone recommend good texts on Minoan society and religion? I've come across the name of Nanno Marinatos in my travels across Google but wanted to see if you guys had any other pointers or whether Marinatos is a good place to start for someone who's used to and enjoys reading well-researched history. As for Minoan religion specifically, yes, Marinatos' book is the standard resource. It is not without significant flaws, some of which were pointed out by Jim Wright in his review of the book. Her book Minoan Kingship and the Solar Goddess is noticeably more speculative, and I was not convinced by most of her arguments, but it's certainly an interesting and thought-provoking work.
