I’m watching Band of Brothers (great show btw) and I’ve noticed that even American soldiers seemed to revere German weaponry. Many of these soldiers have an infatuation specifically with the Luger for some reason and German tanks seemed to be considered especially dangerous. Was there truth to this and if so was it just a couple of these technologies or was the German army as a whole better equipped technologically?

In general, no, the Wehrmacht's supposed technological advantage was more myth than reality. They did have an edge in high-speed aeronautics and, at first, jet engine design, but this advantage was made moot by their industrial inability to produce engines by the time they were ready.
