I would like to learn more about history, but I am kind of afraid of buying a book or reading an article maybe, because I don't want to be getting the wrong information. When I see posts about the best history books to read or something like that, I end up getting away from it because I think that it's popularity can come from some manipulation in some way. Kind of always thinking on the "winners write the history" theme, and not knowing if the winner told the history right or wrong.
How do I know which books, authors, articles, etc. are true to history? at the same time being good obviously.
Thanks in advance!
