Napoleonic Tactics...what was different or revolutionary about them as relates to armies and tactics of the period?

by Partytime79

I’ve read countless articles recounting the military genius of Napoleon and how he changed how warfare was waged. He had generals emulating him for generations to come. What I haven’t seen are material examples of how and what he did differently. What specifically did Napoleon excel at that made him so successful? I understand that his logistical skills were first rate and he was able to field massive professional armies but what battlefield innovations did he invent/enhance, if any?

More can always be said, but on matters Napoleonic and of the man specifically, we can turn to u/DonaldFDraper, specifically two particular answers, one from an AMA and one from a plain thread, on just how revolutionary Napoleon was.

I also commend to your attention their flair profile, which links to a significant amount of answers re Napoleon.
