Hello - I’m looking for non-fiction reading recommendations on pre-Meiji Japan.
I enjoy reading about specific historic events and micro-history, but if there are any good recommendations covering broader periods of Japanese history I would appreciate that as well.
Specific topics of interest (though not exhaustive): Jomon and Yayoi; Kofun archaeology; Yamato clan; first shogun; Feudal period; Mongol invasion attempt; Portuguese arrival.
Thanks!
