Modern-day adaptions of ancient/medieval warfare show that soldiers rarely experienced any form of PTSD after battle. Yet we see today just how big of a problem PTSD is for veterans returning home. Is this depiction of medieval soldiers accurate? Were they really that unaffected?

Basically all tv shows/movies depict the men celebrating all night long after battle, not showing the slightest sign they are mentally scarred by battle they just involved themselves in. Is this accurate?
