I have a family bible that was used prior to the Civil War. It is a sad mess after 150 years but it contains a running list of names of slaves and their children. The original Bible owners lived on on near what is now Tuskegee U. I contacted TU in the 90’s but could not get any interest. Somebody has got to want this information. I’m getting old, I need to get this info where it will be useful. Ideas?
For what it's worth... I've no knowledge of the area or its history, but http://genealogytrails.com/ala/macon/ claims they're "looking for data for their site" and have an email link to contact them. This appears to be the county where Tuskegee is located, and might be a contact for you. Consider posting at r/Genealogy as well.
