Today:

Welcome to this week's instalment of /r/AskHistorians' Sunday Digest (formerly the Day of Reflection). Nobody can read all the questions and answers that are posted here, so in this thread we invite you to share anything you'd like to highlight from the last week - an interesting discussion, an informative answer, an insightful question that was overlooked, or anything else.

Welcome one and all to another fantastic edition of the digest. Filled to the brim with hand crafted, free range answers from a host of expert writers and all round brilliant people. Spend some time browsing through the list, and don’t forget to thank the folk who put in so much work.

The Saturday Showcase!

And of course, as is tradition, here’s the weekly META thread. How exactly does this sub works? Everytime I see a question that I wanna know the answer too, all I see is deleted comments by the mods. Seems like this sub is just useless...

Once more that finishes us off for the week. Editing is a bit sloppy because its Mothers Day and I should probably be off doing other things. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend out there fellow history lovers, keep it classy and I’ll see you next Sunday!

Today I read this answer by /u/aquatermain on "How was State terrorism perpetrated in Argentina by the last military dictatorship?". It was … an experience. I think it is really important to never forget so I posted it here even if it wasn’t from this week. Also, the answer itself is really fricking good even by askhistorian’s standards. I got a bit emotional reading the answer, it did not help that I listened to this song while I read it. I felt that this bit of the song, 2:10 - 2:40, captured some of the feelings I had while I read that answer.

Don’t forget to spare a thought for some interesting, yet overlooked questions. Feel free to post your own, or others that caught your eye and your curiosity.

/u/EdHistory101 asked Did the Prussian government require women register their menstrual cycles every month?

/u/Untap_Phased is looking for Evidence of Knights Templar Practicing Ritualistic Magic?

/u/hirasol asked How did Pizarro get to the Inca?

Not sure where to ask this, but how do I research a source. Like I'm reading Alfred Crosby's The Columbian Exchange and am curious if there are parts that are disputed and, more importantly, how I would find out what.
