The Seven Years' War from indigenous perspectives

by finchylocks

I've been doing a lot of digging into the history, recently, but everything I've found has been drawn from European/colonial sources. (I'm teaching a class, not trying to get homework done, promise.) Does anyone know where I can find sources written by Native/First Nations people? I'd be thrilled with anything from translated primary sources to articles and books.

Edit: The book I'm teaching is fictional and set in New England but I am more than happy to have sources about the war in general as it's barely touched by most U.S. high schools, if it's even taught at all.

Unfortunately, your question both lacks location and desired kind of information. The only clue I have here is Seven Years' War.

You might wish to start with Bernd Peyer, pub. 2007. American Indian Nonfiction: An Anthology of Writings, 1760s-1930s Univ. of Okla. Press. At the very least, you would have an anthology and possibly find a few new names to chase.

Rev. Samson Occom was the first known Monhegan to publish in English, and was a contemporary of the wars, not to mention his ongoing association with John Eliot. I would think him invaluable even if he turns out to mostly refer to the war obliquely.
