For published works, it all depends on the requirements of publishing houses. Same with referencing techniques.

In terms of drafting and/or teaching, I use CE and BCE. It's part of my personal preference to approach the historical world as more than the Christian historical world. That said, if I'm speaking, I will use AD and BC because I sometimes lisp when I'm tired.
