I've seen it crop up in various works of fiction, like this videogame, but was it possible, as a pilot, to tune into the enemy's radio and contact them? And if so, was it ever done?
Follow up question that I’ve asked here before and got no response: when were Guard frequencies (121.5 and 243.0) established and by whom?
OP, if enemy fighters talked to each other those would likely be the channels they’d use. More likely victor guard (121.5) than uniform guard. That’s IF those were established by WWII, which I’m unsure of. I’m aircrew in military aviation today and we can, and occasionally do, talk to adversary aircraft in flight. Though obviously not in combat as we’re not at war.
There was a similar question by another user in 2014, and had some interesting answers.
