I understand that they were widely used as "shock troops" for the nationalists and were used in propaganda when it came to accentuating the martial bravery of the nationalist forces. I'm curious as to whether or not the marginal ethnic difference of the Moroccan soldiers ever became an issue amongst supporters of Franco who were reactionary in their views on ethnicity/race? Was this even a big deal in terms of Falangist political thought at all? Also, what was the reaction of the forces of the Spanish Republic, as well as Spanish communists, anarchists, etc-- to the use of the "colonials" in battle as well as when it came to "pacification"?
While hopefully there might be further responses to your specific question, some relevant information from myself and u/drylaw can be found in this older post.
