So I can recommend a pair of books written by a Dutch author called R.G. Poulussen.

His books are 'Lost at Nijmegen' and 'Little Sense of Urgency', and are both based on research of primary sources. (They aren't commonly available but can be had by looking him up on twitter)

Poulussen's work identifies a number of causes of failure for the operation that do not marry with the Beevor/Hastings/ABTF school of pop historiography.

Most notably, Poulussen points to the principle causes of failure being Brereton's cancellation of coup de main drops, and using single rather than double towed gliders, as well as Gavin's failure to prioritise the capture the bridge at Nijmegen, the latter causing a 3 day delay to 30 Corp's advance to Arnhem.
