Fascists in Britain were badly organised on the eve of war, due to rifts within the main fascist party, the British Union of Fascists and resulting splinter parties. After the fall of France fear of a fifth column was felt throughout Britain (as it was believed that France had fallen because of fifth columnists). As a result the most prominent fascists were interned without trail and the existing facist organisations banned. Without their leaders and with their party organisations suppressed, there was no way to organise fascists across the UK. Most fascists however felt it was unwise anyway to openly support Germany once war began as strategic bombing of civilian areas began almost immediately and their was mass public support for the war. The prevailing thought was to wait it out, with token support for Britain in the war, waiting until an invasion happened. So the lack of leaders, organisation and desire resulted in a lack of any real fifth columnists within Britain.
