In the 19th and 20th century sobreity was "in" as evidenced by Prohibition, the Welsh Sunday Act of 1881, and the Norweigian Spirit Ban, but did any of these happen on the African, Indian or Asian subcontinent? Specifically around the same time as the USA and UK?
