The Knights Templar were convicted of heresy King Philip IV. After having a trail by the Pope, most of the Templar denied the charges, except for a few. They denied idol worship and homosexual charges but admitted to spitting on the Cross and denying Christ. They claimed it was to strengthen their faith to God. Although, an account from a younger Templar claimed for his ceremony, he only was taken into a dark room where he kissed a relic from Jesus three times. At the end of the day, the Pope confirmed that they were innocent. So, did the Templars spit on the Cross or not?
