Anyone know more about this painting (who painted this) and what it represents? https://imgur.com/a/05xb0nV
According to the post I saw the painting is in Chapultepec castle in Mexico city. But the poster did not know what it represented.
This appears to be José Cusachs' Batalla del 5 de Mayo de 1862, painted in 1903 and currently on display in the Museo Nacional de Historia in Chapultapec Castle.
It's a romanticised depiction of a scene from the Battle of Puebla, fought between French and Mexican republican forces on, as you would imagine, the 5th of May 1862, during the Second French intervention in Mexico.
