If you'd like to get started with theories of history and historiography, I highly reccomend "History in Crisis?" By Norman Wilson, and "Thinking about History" from Sarah Maza. These are both pretty basic, pretty solid surveys of the discipline that give you an overview of how history (as a discipline) has developed and why. Moreover, being able to tell the difference between neo-historicism and say, classical Marxist historiography is a valuable skill that will come in handy the more you dive into monographs and more niche scholarship. Hope this helps!
