Did the Byzantine army have any major weapon developments that would have impressed the Romans?

I think Greek fire probably qualifies there. Its the famous and perhaps most obvious one, but that probably would have impressed the Romans significantly. They had a giant siphon like device which was able to fire a primitive version of napalm. They also were no pushovers tactically. The strategikon of Maurice was a pretty excellent document for dealing with various combat scenarios.
