According to an article in The Oklahoman, (August 18, 1985), the wreckage was towed out to sea and sank by a former whaler named Tom Brower who lived in Barrow, at the request of the widows. Parts of the rudder are on display in a cafe in Barrow, in the Brower's former home. Part of the wing are at the former Naval Air Station in Barrow.
