To be more precise I’m curious about how the archbishop and the other members of the state where chosen, how the burocracy of the state worked and kept itself afloat and if there was any difference in the internal administration from each archbishopric or if they where all governed in the same way and had a similar approach to foreign policy. (the time period on this question is quite broaden as I'm also curious on how these goverment changed overtime, so it goes from the middle ages to the modern era.)
So I’m quite the history nerd and a big fan of games such as EU4, and while I believe that games such as EU4 and ck2 explore with some depth both republics and Monarchies I always felt that aside of the papal states they never explained or explored deeply or properly how most theocracies in Europe worked , is also not very easy to find information on how these goverments worked. (unlike how it’s the case with monarchies or republics.) so yeah the reason I made this post is not only to clear those doubts but also to discuss about these theocracies and to allow everyone interested on the subject to have a better understanding on how they work.
