Hi, my friend got a notebook with a map on it, which has parts of a colonial-era looking map for its cover. I've seen this map everywhere on things like notebooks but haven't been able to track it down. Here's some links to some pictures of it. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/588674557242638347/749279201575567360/IMG_20200829_114556.jpg https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/588674557242638347/749279209284960306/IMG_20200829_114551.jpg
Any help would be appreciated. :)
The title (in the cartouche there) is "America with those known parts in that unknowne worlde both people and manner of buildings described and inlarged by I.S. Ano 1626." by the English cartographer John Speed (= I.S, 1552-1629).
The California-as-an-Island mainly belongs in the 17th century. Stylistically this 17th century too. The original map is a copperplate engraving, so it's black and white; the color in the linked image was added by hand later, so pay no heed to it. Note the full map has several fictional islands even in the more well-known north Atlantic: Frisland between Iceland and Greenland, and [Brasil](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brasil_(mythical_island)).
