Many European nations such as Britain, Austria, Prussia, Russia, Sweden and the Netherlands would go to war with Napoleon, yet were openly supportive of another Frenchman King Louis XVIII replacing him.
Why was Napoleon seen as a threat yet Louis XVIII wasn’t?
Was it because Napoleon was seen as a revolutionary against the monarchies and aristocracy, while Louis XVIII was one of them?
