Growing up in the '90s, it felt like everyone wore baggy pants, baggy shirts, and generally baggy clothes. Why? How did this become the trend among most people?

Basically- blame Armani. Armani got really big “power suits” to be on trend (just look at photos of Michael Jordan in 95) In the 80s. It slowly started to spill over into most other fashion, particularly rap and things like that.
