My mom and I found an old family heirloom. Some kind of german bible that reads 1783 on the front. What looks to be C F K? We looked up the lettering and it seems to be following the "fratkur" font. Can anyone help identify this book?
In English, basically "Spiritual and loving songs" by Martin Luther and the other names mentioned, compiled by Johann Porst (1668-1728). A compilation of prayers and such. The section opened "Vom lobe gottes des Abends" is "In praise of god in the evening", following a section on praising god in the morning.
This appears to be an edition published in Berlin in 1773, here's a scanned copy of that edition, on the same pages you posted; as you can see the typography is the same.
Could be 'CFK' or maybe 'CFH'.
(As a general note on scotch tape - and I'm not accusing anyone here as that tape is clearly pretty old already - is that scotch tape should never be used to tape together any book you care about. It does far more damage than good, leaving permanent marks and is difficult to remove without causing damage)
