My ancestors lived in Baden, specifically Kirchzarten, around 1820-1835.
I have found it very difficult to find history books, articles or other resources specific to that area in Germany and that time period.
I was hoping that one of you Reddit historians would be able to point me toward some useful reading. Any help is much appreciated!
A good resource would be the Badisches Landesarchiv or the Staatsarchiv Freiburg. They have an online Search that might get you started. Unfortunately you'll need to be able to read German as its not translated to english. I you check 'verknüpfte Inhalte'/'Objekte' you get a list of available materials (photographs, documents, etc.) either directly available online or at least their ISBN or the name of the archive / library that has the title (for documents and books).
