In the video game Battlefield 1, naval dreadnaughts are depicted as being used as artillery. Was this accurate?

Battlefied 1 takes place during World War 1. War story number 4 of the campaign, The Runner, is set in Gallipoli on the second day of the British attack. The ending shows the naval guns firing at the land like artillery (and having a similar effect). Is this accurate? If so, what sort of shells would be used?

Also, here is a video of what I'm talking about.

Yep, naval bombardment of shore positions is definitely A Thing. (Speaking in my own flair area, about half the questions I deal with about D-Day are "Why didn't the Allies bombard the beaches?".) More can always be said on the matter, of course, so if anyone wants to flex their WWI naval chops, don't let this post or the previous ones linked stop you!

Whilst we wait for further answers, u/thefourthmaninaboat has two relevant posts regarding WWI-era naval bombardment.
