What was the political ideals common amongst the Whig Party?

I get they were divided on slavery and united in their dislike for Andrew Jackson, but what else did they agree on and what did they try to achieve while in government?

They generally agreed on high tariffs & the need for internal improvements, as well as a national bank.

The initial Whig coalition had practically no ideology past opposing Jackson, but with time it became something of a traditionalist conservative party, but that lack of ideological clarity & the party’s penchant for remaining in the center would contribute to its demise.
