The above points around cultural and geography are important drivers. However also need to consider the more concrete actions that occurred post WW2. While there was a short period following the war where german industry was dismantled and the country moved towards agriculture, but the 50's (early for US, mid for GB and France) views changed to the importance of Germany to acting as a bulwark against communism and supporting the reconstruction of the European economy. In order support this billions of dollars were invested in repairing and strengthening the German economy, to a level far higher than was seen in GB or France. This has directly supported the so called German Economic miracle.
