I recently came across a comment discussing that people in the past would get married at around 12 years old They never specified where or when
But is there some truth to that??
There's always more to be said, but you might be interested in my past answer to Why did large age gaps in marriage go from being common to being unpopular?
In the latter Han of China (23-220 AD), entry to the imperial harem could start as young as 12 for the ladies and the upper limit for the recruitment was at age of 19. In three kingdoms (190-280AD) we do get a few moments of ages when married known (though only a few): the Shu general Zhang Fei kidnapped and married a lady of the Xiahou clan of 13-14 years old while the last Han Emperor Emperor Xian had harem by age of 11, was capped at 13 (came of age) and issue of Empress was discussed.
As has been mentioned, coming of age was earlier and none of these was considered an improper age at the time.
