by Curiousteenx6

Im new, first of all, so Im not saying this to offend, its just to now if its just because this page is made by people who dont have knowledge about every topic (which I understand) or if its that im being ignored. Hi there -- it looks like you submitted a question about the Roman conquest of Spain about a day ago. There are several reasons why your question may not have been answered, among them the time of day you posted it, the fact it was posted on a weekend (many of our users use Reddit to distract themselves at work), a lack of experts in the field who might have seen your question, and so forth. In a non-pandemic time about 40% of questions get some sort of answer, and while the number of questions answered hasn't changed much since spring of this year, the number asked has gone up, leading to an answer rate that's smaller.

Anyhow -- yes, it's not personal. You can always repost a question that didn't get an answer, as long as you wait for at least 24 hours before doing so. Good luck with your question!

It's a combination of two factors. One is that the infamous comment graveyard is a result of people providing answers not up to the sub's intended quality (along the lines of just a wikipedia link, or just a link to some other site, or "this is what I learned in history class" or "I heard this in a bar last week"), and so they have to be removed. The sub firmly believes that no answer is better than a bad answer.

The other is simply the human factor. I see you posted a question yesterday, but often it takes some time for someone to write a good answer. From personal experience, it takes me about four or more hours to write an answer, but I'm a homebody with no life who mainly browses the sub by new. Some topics can take even more time to write about, depending on just how much needs to be addressed in the question. And that's assuming someone sees the question in time - it's entirely possible that thanks to either the weirdnesses of Reddit or simply humans being humans, that whoever is best qualified to answer your question might not even have seen it. That just is how it be sometimes, honestly. Don't lose hope - some questions have been answered after a few days, a week or more, and all the way out to the archive limit of 6 months.

And if it's a previously-asked question, our FAQ Finders (hello!) might have a previous thread for you. Though I just did a search on the Cantabrian War, and there's exactly one thread about it, and I feel iffy linking it as an answer.

You can always repost your question if it hasn't received any replies; a fair few questions have got answers on the second, third, or even later reposts. We do have a fair few Roman flairs about, so it may simply be just bad luck. Give it a day or several, try again.
