I've been curious about this for awhile. Nowadays I don't think twice about cooking, refrigerating, and reheating my food. What was life like before and how did these innovations change the way things worked in the kitchen? Was there any resistance to adoption?
Not to discourage any further answers but awhile ago /u/mimicofmodes wrote an amazing answer on how the introduction and adoption of automation and premade foods contributed to devaluation of housework and women's labor. I don't even have any puns for this, it's just a good answer.
