I am looking for literature on the history of contemporary and modern savings methods specifically in the form of pension funds, stock investment etc. When did this phenomenon arise, what caused and it and why?
I guess a more general question would be what is the history of retirement as we know it today? and can you provide any literature to further explain this phenomenon.
