I can find a lot of information about the struggles they had with racism during the 1950's but I can't find anything on how well they were doing financially. Can anyone enlighten me?
As far as antisemitism in 1950s America, this answer here discusses why, actually, antisemitism was actually on the decrease at that point (though definitely still extant), to a large degree as a result of an American call of conscience post-Holocaust. I don't know of any specific financial issues in the 1950s, and overall Jews benefited from the general post-war boom/move to suburbia.
