Why any sizeable number of vikings converted to Islam?

Vikings did many raids to muslim areas in the Mediterranean, why didn't Islam had a bigger influence on them?

One place where Vikings and Muslims lived beside one another for some time was Sicily where the Emirate was defeated and replaced with Normans. It would have not been an attractive prospect to convert to Islam since the Muslims were under attack from the Byzantians as well as the Normans.
