Unfortunately we do not have any sources regarding the specific beliefs of pre-christian Ireland. Most of what is written about these beliefs derives from mid 20th century historians using much later medieval texts which contain fantastical elements to "fill in" what the prechristian beliefs might have been.

More modern work into this field is sceptical of most of such work and no longer accepts the view that medieval writings can be used as a 'Window on the Iron Age"
