Yeah, my question is how did people in medieval times clean and treat simple cuts and bruises such as scraping your knees when falling or accidentally cutting your finger on something sharp? Thanks in advance for the help)
A wash and a topical treatment is what at least one medical text recommends. More can always be said on the matter of Medieval medicine if anyone would like to put their oar in; while it's odd in some aspects, it's not completely useless. For the meantime, as this is a fairly popular topic, u/BRIStoneman shows us what the 9th Century text Bald's Leechbook has to say about cuts, and more extracts from said Leechbook are compiled in my Middle Ages Are Best Ages Collection.
