What year did Europe first have radios installed in cars? Also, how widespread were Hitler’s radio speeches in 1935?

I’m writing a screenplay about a Swiss painter that immigrated to the US in the late 1930s, and I wanna get the little details of the time period right. Anythhing helps. Thanks!

By the late 30s radios were standard in cars.

But I would check a few other things:

  1. How likely would it be that the painter would find himself in a car at that time.
  2. Would the painter actually find one of AH’s speeches being broadcast in Switzerland at the time? Would German radio reach his car at the distance from the German station to where they were in Switzerland? I think it was only AM back then. Would German radio have traveled that far?
