Hi! Not an expert, but one day I found "Firearms regulation in various foreign countries" created by Library of Congress in 1990, which mention firearms regulation in Egypt in 1920s (p. 46) and later.

Firearms was regulated on basis Law No. 8 of May 17 1917. Nevertheless, the Minister of the Interior or any authority under his jurisdiction may grant a permit to carry guns only as an extraordinary measure. He is free to withdraw and reject any permit, to determine a permit's validity, to dictate any condition at his discretion, and to give the holder of a firearm a certain time limit to sell it to a licensed gun dealer or another authorized person, or to export it to a foreign country.

Owners of antique weapons, such as muskets, carbines, and gold or silver inlaid showcase weapons that serve as ornaments, are simply required to send detailed information about them to the Minister of the Interior.

If you was get arrested with illegal firearm you risk penalty of 3 months in prison and 50 egyptian pounds fine. If crime consider carrying "white weapon" such as a bayonet, a dagger, a lance, a switch blade knife, or a pointed cane with an iron ball you risk one month in prison and 3 Egyptian Pounds fine.

I hope so, it help.
