I recently watch the death of Stalin on Netflix. I became intrigued by Zhukov and his actions during the transition period after Stalin’s death. My question is why did Zhukov fall out of favor during the Brezhnev years? Thank you in advance.
I think you are mistaken here. He actually came back into favor during the Brezhnev, although in a politically neutered way. It was during the latter part of the Khrushchev period that preceded it that he fell out of favor (again), and Brezhnev was instrumental in restoring him to public life. I believe this is the most specific treatment I have done on this topic. Also a tidbit here.
