Simon Schama’s book Story of the Jews (Vol. I) has a chapter called the women of Ashkenaz that discusses the lives of Jewish women in medieval England and France. It’s an entertaining, well-researched book and the chapter does an excellent job of exploring female perspectives while also contextualizing the antisemitism of medieval England and France.
