I'm an average English citizen during World War 2 who frequently listens to the news on the radio. At what point do I start to hear reports of what was going on of what we now know was the Holocaust? What was media reporting like for these stories??

In Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl, her October 9, 1942 entry says that "the English radio says they're being gassed." This is far earlier than I had thought the general public was aware of this.
