Based on what you give, the answer would appear to be somewhere between 1947 and 1953.

  • The USSR existed until 1991.
  • Ceylon changed its name to Sri Lanka in 1972.
  • There were two Pakistans--East and West--between 1947 and 1971.
  • Bechuanaland became independent--as Botswana--in 1966.
  • The KMT established themselves on Taiwan as the "Republic of China" in 1949 but the US hemmed and hawed before recognizing it in 1955 (this was later withdrawn under the Nixon administration which grated recognition to the People's Republic).
  • The borders between the Koreas weren't fixed until the armistice of 1953, but this may not immediately have been accepted.

This flowchart is amazingly accurate at determining the date of maps: https://xkcd.com/1688/large/

We might be able to pin it down by looking at Canada (Newfoundland didn't join until 1949); whether Egypt is labeled Egypt (-1957) or the United Arab Republic (1958-), and whether Eritrea is an Italian colony (-1952) or part of Ethiopia (1953-).

Hi

I think your globe is from the late 40s about 47-49

with no Taiwan, I reckon it's before The Nationalists' retreat to Taipei in 1949 as during the Chinese Civil War

and East Pakistan (modern-day Bangladesh) was split out of British India in The Partition of India 1947 when many countries around there got Independence from the British

I lean more towers the globe being from some time in 47 or early 48 because Korea was split between 2 admissive governments one in the north one in the south both who claimed to be Korea but they were different to the north and south Korea we have today and who fort the Korean War in the 50s they where formed late 48

hope this helps
