So I just read this awesome book about the Pazzi conspiracy to assassinate the Medici, called April Blood. Does anyone have recommendations for other books about Lorenzo Medici specifically but also, more generally, the history of the Medici and/or political histories of Florence? Thanks in advance!
Late response but I can suggest a few.
Pazzi Conspiracy
Lorenzo de Medici
The Life of Lorenzo de Medici - William Roscoe
Lorenzo the Magnificent - Hugh Ross Williamson
Magnifico: The Brilliant Life and Violent Times of Lorenzo de' Medici - Miles J. Unger
The Medici Dynasty
Florence and the Medici - J.R. Hale
The Rise and Fall of the House of Medici - Christopher Hibbert
The Rise and Decline of the Medici Bank 1397-1494 - Raymond de Roover
The Government of Florence under the Medici, 1434–1494 - Nicolai Rubinstein
The Medici: Power, Money, and Ambition in the Italian Renaissance - Paul Strathern
Death in Florence: The Medici, Savonarola, and the Battle for the Soul of a Renaissance City - Paul Strathern
Medici Money: Banking, Metaphysics, and Art in Fifteenth-Century Florence - Tim Parks
The Tragedies of the Medici - Edgcumbe Staley
I'm not sure about the availability or price of some, but Paul Strathern's ones are probably the best place to start.
