How did the Muslim world react to the Protestant Reformation, and the subsequent Wars of Religion?

by Catfishbandit999

Considering the Crusades, Reconquista, and pretty much all anti-Islamic activity in Medieval Eurasia were performed by the Catholic Church, did the Muslim powers (I guess mainly the Ottoman Empire) offer to help Lutherans and other early Protestants in their struggles? Did they simply try to make the schism and inter-religious violence worse? Were there any commentaries on the similarities to Islam's own Shia/Sunni split?

Hi Catfish!

You may be interested in my previous answer to a question regarding Ottoman involvement in the Thirty Years' War:

What was the Ottoman Empire up to in Europe during the Thirty Years' War? Were there any plans to intervene in favour of one side or another, or were Ottoman interests directed elsewhere? Did the European states involved attempt to seek Ottoman support?

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

This, of course, only answers part of your question, but hopefully it is enlightening for this specific war.
