Can anyone suggest a book that covers Slavic nationalism ( South , East and West/Pan Slavic ) ?

by TrajkoAK

I'm making an essay about the Yugoslav nationalism before the Tito era and I need to look at its background as well. That means the Slavic nationalism in the Austrian rule , the Ottoman rule and the Tsardom of Russia

Thanks

Not a trained historian but I'm currently reading a book, From Peoples Into Nations by John Connelly which came out last year(which indicates it's pretty up to date) about nationalism in Eastern Europe that I think is exactly what you're looking for. Connelly is a history professor at UC-Berkeley and director of their Institute for Eastern European, Eurasian, and Slavic Studies.

He takes a comprehensive scholarly path down the history of nationalism from its early development under Hapsburg rule in the 1780s all the way through to the present day and includes talk of ethnic tensions in the Slavic lands of the Ottoman Empire, World War I, Nazism, the Communist Bloc, and Yugoslavia, among other things.
